SAFE DISTANCE - THERE IS NO ROOM FOR COMPLACENCY:

Now is not the time for complacency... COVID-19 numbers are once again on the rise and we need to show restraint and observe the COVIDSafe GUIDELINES. As a result of this seond wave of the virus, our leaders will be discussing whether to make it a mandatory requirement for all members to run the COVIDSafe App while participating in club events. We will keep you informed of any changes to our current rules.

Downloading the app is something you can do to protect you, your family and friends and save the lives of other Australians. The more Australians connect to the COVIDSafe app, the quicker we can find the virus. Click here for the latest daily COVID-19 stats.

REMINDER: COVID-19 Physical Distancing.

It is vital we learn the lessons from the recent COVID spikes, or we risk seeing many more across Australia, putting in jeopardy much of what we all have worked so hard to achieve in our fight against COVID-19.

An important message I would like to reinforce is, despite our success in combatting COVID-19, we are not at a stage where we can go back to living our lives the way we did before Australia had the pandemic. The virus is still with us, and will be for quite some time — and the international situation continues to get worse, not better.

The spike in Victoria shows just how easy it is for outbreaks to occur if we don’t continue to practise physical distancing and good hygiene, and stay at home when sick. It’s also a reminder of the importance of downloading the COVIDSafe app so health authorities can quickly find close contacts of people confirmed to have contracted COVID-19.

Please practice good hygiene and safe physical distancing when attending club events and while in the public domain.

NB. It''s not time to let your guard down or to get complacent about the Coronavirus. In the last 7 days Australia has recorded 654 new cases while worldwide there has been 11.3 million confirmed cases with over a half million deaths.

We remind you to be all COVID safe... And, do the three!

1. Washing your hands as often as possible
2. Keeping your distance where you can; and
3. Downloading the COVIDSafe app.

And importantly, if you’re feeling sick, you need to stay at home and get tested. Let's all stay COVIDSafe and do the 3.

BiG November Event Amendment:

Due to our accommodation being closed down as a result of beach erosion with the chance of villas toppling into the sea, we have now lost our event accommodation for our BiG November Week-Away at Stockton Beach.

We will be holding an Urgent Meeting after completion of our Sunrise event on 18th July which will be open to any members suggestions as to where to move the event to. At time of writing this notification it has been suggested to move the event to Port Stephens providing we can obtain suitable accommodation there. Let us know your thoughts? E-mail us at; myorg@ozemail.com.au.
